Newcastle United winger Anthony Elanga admits his first months at St James' Park have been "tough".

Elanga joined in the summer from Nottingham Forest for £55m. He has yet to score in 17 competitive matches, eight of which have been starts. He has only provided one assist.

"It's been tough. We've had ups and downs, we've done really well at home but not so well away. But there are a lot of games left and all I can do is focus on showing my best when I get the chance," the 23-year-old tells Sportbladet.

"A price tag is a price tag. I am a football player and I focus on the pitch and showing what I can do when I get the chance.

"I am a person who has a lot of patience and I know that when it hits, it will go well."
