Fulham performance wasn't good enough

Dyche and his side are currently five points clear of the relegation zone as he first admitted that the performance against the Cottagers was simply not good enough.

"You have to park things pretty quickly. you know. And I think the group have done well overall, and wasn't a million miles off last night, but you know, we all talk about the margins, the one percents added across a team and we didn't find their moments.

"Sometimes you need someone to do something that ignites everyone else you know. It just seemed that everyone was waiting for each other to do something, so it happens.

"It's one of those strange things. We were looking for a moment and we couldn't just get that. It was a collective thing. No individual moments or question marks. We didn't quite have that edge."

Consistency is key

The former Burnley and Everton boss has won seven of his 12 games in charge of the club since he took over from Nuno Espirito Santo. Forest have also achieved back-to-back victories in Europe and Dyche was asked about consistency within his side, who are edging closer to safety.

"Every role I've had as a manager, it's the biggest thing - finding consistency through your training. Finding consistency in performance constantly.

"Many years ago, at Burnley, we used to talk about automaticity and the idea of just doing automatic behaviours.

"But it takes time. The culture has been changing and players have done fantastically well with it Now it's about pushing all the time more and more and more."

Transfer plans

Finally, Dyche revealed what the January transfer window has in store for the club as he tries to forge a team that can stay away from relegation and possibly climb into the top half of the table.

"I think it's unlikely to be a big window. It is anyway in the history of the January window, but I think it's unlikely. The club spent a lot of money getting ready for this challenge in the Europa League and the Premier League and whatever comes in the other cups.

"I think it's unlikely. But this club, on the other hand, have shown if things come available in the right time and the right people involved, then it can happen. But I think after the big investment in the summer, I think it'll be a slow window.

"But you never know. Like, I say, you've got to be aware of the shift in the market, which we certainly will be."
