The Hammers need attacking depth and Lamadrid arrives to add to manager Nuno Espirito Santo’s forward line, who have scored just 24 goals in 22 games so far this season.
West Ham announced his arrival on Thursday afternoon and the young attacker says he is delighted with the move.
“It's an incredible opportunity to be here at this beautiful Club,” he said. “I thank God first of all, and all the people who helped me get here. I also thank my family, who always supported me. For me, it's a dream to be here.
“I'm excited to grow as a person, as a player, and I want to do well at this club. I want to adapt as quickly as possible, to continue growing as a player and open doors again for Venezuelan football. Nothing is impossible.”
The 22-year-old is a left-footed winger who prefers playing on the left but can also play centrally which will help Nuno rotate his attack for the second half of the season if he gets his chance.
West Ham have already brought in strikers Taty Castellanos and Pablo Felipe as they seek more goals this season, something that has eluded the side so far.
