Pep Guardiola slammed the officials after Man City's dramatic 2-1 Premier League win over Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday (February 8).

Erling Haaland secured all three points for the visitors with his first goat at Anfield, but it could have been 3-1 if Rayan Cherki’s late strike was given.

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson went up as Arne Slot’s side pushed for an equaliser, but when the Cherki got the ball just inside his own half, he passed it into the back of the Liverpool net.

Haaland and Dominik Szoboszlai were grappling each other as they chased it, with the Liverpool man sent off for a foul and the goal ultimately chalked off.

Speaking to BBC Match of the Day after the game, Guardiola gave a short but telling answer when asked about the dramatic finale.

"Come on referee, give goal and go home!" he said.

He then elaborated in his press conference, saying: "Yeah, common sense, no? I know he pulls him, but how many pulls are in a game and the referees play on, in this country, in this league? Give a goal, 3-1, Szoboszlai can play and we are happy."
