Pedro Neto was the only Portuguese player registered by Chelsea in the competition.

The former Wolves winger became emotional during the minute's silence in memory of Diogo Jota, with whom he shared a dressing room, and travelled to the player's funeral in Gondomar after the match between the Londoners and Palmeiras in the quarter-finals.

According to The Athletic, the families of the former players will receive 500,000 dollars (approximately 428,000 euros).
