Chelsea have reportedly started the vetting process on three managers as they search for Liam Rosenior's replacement.

Rosenior, 41, was relieved of his duties earlier in the month following a disastrous five-game Premier League losing streak.

With qualification for next season’s Champions League now looking unlikely, Chelsea’s sporting directors are said to be taking their time in their hunt for a replacement.

According to The Telegraph, the club are ‘making checks’ on Xabi Alonso, Marco Silva, and Andoni Iraola, although this isn’t their final shortlist.

Alonso, who appears to be the favourite amongst the fans, has been out of work since he was sacked by Real Madrid in January.

Iraola has already announced that he will be leaving Bournemouth at the end of the season, and Silva looks set to leave Fulham once his contract expires in the summer.
