United won thanks to Matheus Cunha's goal on the night.
Captain for the evening, Caicedo said afterwards: "For sure everybody is disappointed because we wanted to win. We created a lot of chances but we couldn’t get the result.
"But we are looking forward because we have five games left and five games to win, to try to get in the Champions League."
The Ecuador international also said: "We had the opportunities to score but we didn’t have the luck tonight.
"Other things were good, we fought until the end to get the three points. Everyone is disappointed but we are looking forward."
Caicedo was also asked about signing a new deal on the eve of the clash.
He added, "I am so happy and so proud of myself because of what I am doing and because I am going to be staying for a lot of years here. For sure we are going to win a lot of trophies.
"Being captain here tonight was so nice, and it is always special to have the armband. I am trying to help the team on the pitch and I will always try in every game."
