Nigerian youngster Zadok Yohanna has said Brighton & Hove Albion’s strong record of developing young talent was key to his move from AIK Stockholm.

The 18-year-old, who impressed during his breakthrough season in Sweden, believes the Seagulls’ playing style and philosophy align perfectly with his long-term ambitions and personal development goals.

"I watch Premier League games a lot, so I know the teams that use young players, and Brighton is one of them," Yohanna told club website.

."They are really good at developing young talents, and I think their style of play will fit me a lot."

He also admitted that leaving AIK was not an easy decision after forming strong bonds during his time at the club.

“I had a lot of good people around me who took care of me. Everyone loved me, so it was difficult to leave,” he said.

Yohanna also confirmed that he spoke with head coach Fabian Hurzeler before completing the move. “He told me to keep fighting and working hard. I will give everything I have and I really want to win trophies with the team.”
