Bowen had the Irons ahead before Georginio Rutter struck an equaliser in injury-time.
Bowen said afterwards: "I think I've been pretty unfortunate in a few weeks. If you go back to the Leeds United game with the overhead kick and the Newcastle United game where I hit the bar after four or five minutes. I think you can either go one or two ways with those things.
“You can either let it eat you up inside, but the most important thing is the team, and the position that I'm in of being captain and having that responsibility, having that leadership to be the focal point of the team without scoring and assisting.
“I think I've always said I always want to show what it means to play for this Club, and I try and do that every single time that I step foot on the pitch.
“I want to make people proud. I want to make people look at me and go, ‘That's someone I want to play for the Club.’
"Goals and assists are always nice, and sometimes goals and assists don't happen, but one thing with me is, if goals and assists don't happen, I don't let that affect my performances on the pitch.
“I'll always turn up and do my best, and I always believe that if you do the right things, you'll get rewarded, and as it happens, probably the hardest chance that I had goes in the back of the net, but it was a really nice feeling.”
