Iraola rates the Argentina defender, who is off contract at the end of June, among the best defensive players in the country when it comes to passing out from the back.
After victory over Leeds last week, Iraola reflected: “Marcos is a top centre back on the ball.
“I think these kinds of games suit his style, especially when we push them more backwards and we could put our centre-backs in the opposition half.
“I think he, and also (James) Hill, found good positions to give through balls, assists, and the first goal to Junior (Kroupi) is a lovely pass.
“The second goal to Evanilson is even a more difficult one, and even some crosses. Marcos is used from his centre back position to put some good crosses and it's lovely to have him on the team.”
