The Daily Mail says Villa are eager to reunite manager Unai Emery with his former Villarreal protege.
And they're now doing their sums to see if they can fit Jackson inside their Profit & Sustainability (PRS) limits after the sale of Jacob Ramset to Newcastle United a week ago.
Villa have already asked Chelsea about a loan-to-buy arrangement, though the Blues would prefer a straight sale given their own PRS issues.
