Martinez, 33, has been a mainstay for Aston Villa since joining back in 2020, making 255 appearances across all competitions.

During his time at the club, Martinez became the only goalkeeper in history to win the Best FIFA Men's Goalkeeper award and the Yashin Trophy twice (2022/2024 for FIFA, 2023/2024 for Yashin).
According to Foot Mercato, Villa are in the process of looking for Martinez’s eventual successor and have their eyes on two Ligue 1 prospects.
Villa are keeping tabs on RC Lens goalkeeper Robin Risser and Toulouse shot stopper Guillaume Restes.
