Arsenal have been handed a major boost after highly rated youngster Max Dowman agreed scholarship terms, with a professional contract expected to follow soon.

The 15-year-old has exploded onto the scene at Arsenal and is widely regarded as one of the best youth products in the country.

Dowman became the second youngest player in the club’s history, behind fellow wonderkid Ethan Nwaneri, in their 5-0 win over Leeds earlier in the season.

According to The Athletic, Dowman has agreed to a scholarship deal with Arsenal with professional terms expected to be signed once he turns 17.

The young midfielder was linked with a move to Chelsea during the summer as part of the Noni Madueke deal, but coming from a family of Arsenal fans, that was never likely.
