Odegaard carried on for another ten minutes before being taken off by manager Mikel Arteta.
The injury came about after a tackle from Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White saw Odegaard take a fall and land flush on his shoulder.
Odegaard has had a lingering shoulder problem for some time, being forced off with it in the 5-0 romp of Leeds United earlier in the campaign.
