Slot’s side have enjoyed the perfect start in their bid to retain the Premier League title for the first time in the club’s history, winning all five of their games so far.
The schedule is starting to get a little hectic, however, and Liverpool will have to play three games before the end of September, including a trip to Turkey to face Galatasaray in the Champions League.
Next up for Liverpool is a visit from Southampton in the League Cup, though, and Slot has already revealed he plans on rotating heavily, naming the five players that will get a rest.
Speaking after the 2-1 in over local rivals Everton, he said: “The good thing is I do have the options to rotate throughout the week and the ones that played three times 90 (minutes) are Virgil (van Dijk), Ibou (Konate), Mo (Salah), Ryan (Gravenberch) and Dom (Szoboszlai), the ones that are used to this intensity at this level, and again they showed up really good.”
When pressed about whether they will feature midweek, he added: “I can tell you now you won’t be seeing them on Tuesday. If that’s any help for Southampton then they will know.”
