Dembele remains a key part of Luis Enrique’s plans, but reports from France have suggested that talks over a new deal aren’t progressing as expected.
Speaking to reporters ahead of their game against Chelsea, Dembele made it clear he has no intention in leaving but admitted the ultimate decision may not be up to him.
“There is no reason not to extend,” he began.
“But it is not me who makes the decisions. The discussions around my contract are between my agent and the club. I haven’t managed that since the very start of my career.”
