The Italy goalkeeper is a step away from signing with Manchester City just months after playing a key role in PSG's unprecedented Quadruple triumph.
"This situation perfectly reflects what football has become," said Dugarry. "Players are criticiszed for lacking heart or a sense of club spirit, but when I see how PSG treated Donnarumma, who has had difficult moments but has been decisive in recent victories, I'm shocked."
Luis Enrique has chosen to focus on the younger Lucas Chevalier, deemed better suited to his style of play.
It's a decision Dugarry struggles to understand: "You'll have to explain to me how Chevalier is better than Donnarumma. He declared his love for the club, he sacrificed himself even in the toughest moments. He didn't deserve this treatment."
The new starter has begun well in Ligue 1 with two clean sheets, but for the former France striker, it remains a gamble: "Luis Enrique wants a sweeper-keeper who's good with his feet. But I hope Chevalier is truly superior, because right now he's not."
Then finally, a dig: "You always have to treat your stars with respect. In Donnarumma's case, PSG didn't do that."
