Valencia's celebrations infuriated the home support, which included Los Che defender Eray Comert taking the corner flag and sticking his shirt at the end of the pole to wave it in front of the away support.
Corberan said afterwards: “I went to the dressing room and couldn't see it clearly. I apologise on behalf of Valencia, because there is a lot of tension in these matches and sometimes things are misinterpreted.
"We don't want it to be perceived as a lack of respect and we apologise as a club.”
The win moved Valencia to 14th on the LaLiga table, two points ahead of the bottom three.
Asked if the result has rescued his job, Corberan added: “It’s difficult for me to talk about the future. It’s very easy to do so, but it’s unrealistic. The important thing was to compete in the match the way we did.
"We wanted to make the fans feel that the match was important and special, that feeling we have. We were able to give them that joy.”
