Chema has been outstanding for VfB in his first season in Germany after leaving Real Madrid last summer.
Real Madrid hold a buy-back option in the youngster's deal and he told the Athletic: “That’s something the club has to decide; I’d be delighted to return to Madrid, but it’s not something I’m worried about right now.
"I’m very happy in Stuttgart. I’ve told my agent I don’t want to hear anything about it. When the time comes, we’ll talk and see what options we have.”
The La Fabrica graduate also said: “The sporting project suited what I wanted: to make the leap to professional football and have the opportunity to gain experience and playing time.
"I spoke with the coach, Sebastian Hoeness, and he convinced me; I could see that he wanted me there and that he trusted me. He instilled that confidence in me.”
