"Do I have the right to fail? No. But that's also why people respect you so much. Because you accept all this, you're resilient, and you always want to win," he said.

He continued: "I've never wanted to accept failure, so I don't mind being criticized for it. I'm very demanding of myself, more than most people, so I take it philosophically."

On the millions he has already earned, Mbappe continued: "Can it destroy everything? Yes, it can. The more money you have, the more problems you have. There are people who don't see that your life is changing; they want to preserve the image of when you were a child, when you were with them... But you're no longer the same. You have responsibilities, commitments, a job, and accounts to pay."

And again: "If someone accompanies you along this journey, it's a beautiful story. It's nice to grow, to reach the top, with the same family and a foundation of trust. But sometimes it doesn't work out, and you have to have the courage to say so.

"This doesn't mean the bond is broken, but just that the relationship isn't working anymore. It's easier said than done, and it's a problem many athletes and public figures face."

Explaining his clear stance on everyday life: "I'm fatalistic about the world of football, but not about life. Life is wonderful. Football is what it is. I like to say that people who go to the stadium are lucky enough to come just to watch the show, without knowing what happens behind the scenes. Honestly, if I didn't have this passion, the world of football would have disgusted me a long time ago."
