Real Madrid have sealed the signing of defender Cucurella, 27, from Chelsea for a reported fee of €60 million as Jose Mourinho’s revolution continues.
It’s been widely reported that Fernandez is also keen on a move to the Spanish giants, having spent much of last season flirting with them.
Fernandez was handed a two-match suspension by former Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior due to his comments about Real Madrid.
According to ESPN Argentina, the 25-year-old’s representatives have been in talks with Mourinho’s side since April.
Chelsea value him at £120 million and he remains under contract until 2032, but personal terms aren’t expected to be an issue.
It remains to be seen whether Real Madrid are willing to pay Cheslea’s asking price, however.
