As per reports Real Madrid have reached an agreement with Jose Mourinho to become their next manager in what could be one of the biggest announcements of the season.
Now, Madrid have announced that president Florentino Pérez will talk to the press later today in an emergency press conference which reports state will reveal Mourinho’s return.
“Real Madrid C. F. announces that this afternoon, at 6:00 pm, our president, Florentino Pérez, will appear in the press room of Ciudad Real Madrid following the Board of Directors meeting and will address the media in a press conference.”
The legendary manager is still under contract with Benfica until 2027 but Madrid will activate his €3M release clause to bring him back to the Spanish side before the summer transfer window.
Reports have also claimed the reason behind this press conference could be that Pérez could be leaving the club after turning 79 years old in March.
Real will finish their second consecutive season without a trophy and Perez bringing in Mourinho before he leaves could be a fantastic final move before stepping down.
