Riquelme, 37, has made several sensational promises as bids to take over from Florentino Perez as Real Madrid president.
Speaking on Spanish TV on Wednesday, he claimed that should he win the election on Sunday (June 7), he will sign Rodri and Haaland.
The presidential candidate claimed that Haaland has a release clause in his Man City contract and is keen on the move.
Per Fabrizio Romano, Man City aren’t too worried about these claims and are confident Haaland will be their player for years to come.
They have every reason to be confident with Haaland putting pen to paper on a massive nine-and-a-half-year contract in January 2025.
