Mourinho, 62, made a sensational return to Benfica, the club he started his managerial career, back in September 2025 following the dismissal of Bruno Lage.
Just months after his move to Lisbon, the ‘Special One’ has now been linked with another, even more shocking reunion.
Reports coming out of Spain have suggested that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez wants Mourinho to replace the sacked Xabi Alonso.
When asked about the rumours, Mourinho addressed them in typical fashion, saying: "Don't count on me for soap operas.
“There are good soap operas, but they're very long; you miss one or two episodes and then you lose track. Don't count on me, because I don't watch soap operas."
