Despite the Catalans struggling at the wrong end of the LaLiga table, Carcel says Michel knows management wants him to stay.
He stated: “Míchel knows perfectly well that Girona and Quique Cárcel want him to renew his contract.
"What Míchel is doing at the club is focusing on the day-to-day and the big objectives. The start of the season was very tough with an open transfer window, players leaving and players needing to come in.
"The situation was complicated for the coach and everyone; we were bottom of the table for many weeks, and only through unity and support from all sides were we able to get out of it.
"Girona wants Míchel to continue, and we know he's happy. Many things can happen in football; if he leaves, I'll applaud him and give him a hug.”
