The winger turned down a new contract offer from Blackburn Rovers to join the Catalans in a free transfer last month.
At his presentation this morning, Dolan said: "I'm very happy to be here. I felt welcome and I want to thank the club for this opportunity. I had other options because I was out of contract and there were clubs interested in me, but Espanyol's offer and interest were what I appreciated the most.
"They're a great team, and coming here was the best thing for me; I want to succeed. Espanyol is taking my career to the next level.
"I was fine. I trained hard over the summer to be ready. I'm impressed by the quality of all the players. I want to contribute in every way possible. What do I hope to bring? Goals, assists... the more, the better. I'm a player who always gives 100%, intense and also technical. Manolo González is a coach who demands 100%. I want to help the team finish as high as possible in La Liga and prove that an English player can make an impact here. I'm looking to be a starter.
"It's true that I've only played in England so far, and La Liga is very different. I hope to adapt well, and the truth is that I never wanted an easy career; I like challenges because that's how you improve."
