Los Che won 2-0, with Switzerland international Comert celebrating with the away fans at the final whistle. Comert took the corner flag and stuck his shirt at the end of the pole to wave it in front of the away support.
“I would like to clarify that under no circumstances did I intend to humiliate Levante or their fans,” he wrote in a message posted to his social media.
He then addressed the opposing team's fans and the situation the Levante side is going through, second to last in the standings with 18 points, although with a game in hand.
Comert also said, “I know these are difficult weeks for Levante as well, and I understand that some people may have interpreted it as a lack of respect and were upset.
"It was a reaction born of the emotions of a derby and the joy and satisfaction that winning this game means to us in the situation we are in.”
