The Catalan goalkeeper is expected to be the club’s new number one, taking over from Ter Stegen, 33, who recently suffered a back injury.
Barcelona have now confirmed that LaLiga’s Medical Committee has ruled that goalkeeper’s injury meets the long-term injury criteria established by current regulations.
Garcia can now be registered until at least January, although fellow new signing Marcus Rashford is still out in the wilderness.
