Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen has spoken publicly about his situation at the club, insisting he is “fully willing to collaborate with the club’s management.”

Barcelona signed Joan Garcia from local rivals Espanyol earlier in the summer, with the Spaniard expected to be their new number one next season.

As of yet, the club have been unable to register any of their new signings as they remain outside of La Liga’s 1:1 rule.

He has since been stripped of the captaincy with Spanish media reporting that he refused to sign a consent form that would allow the club to use his wages to help register players.

Barcelona have also opened disciplinary proceedings with centre-back Ronald Araujo taking the arm band for the time being.

Ter Stegen, 33, was expected to leave this summer to give the club some financial wriggle room but has since undergone surgery on his knee ligament injury, meaning a move will be impossible.

The German goalkeeper has since released a statement aimed at angry fans, saying that he went under the knife with agreement from the club.
