Ekitike will miss the rest of the season and the World Cup after suffering a ruptured Achilles tendon.
The Frenchman was taken off on a stretcher on Tuesday as fans feared the worst for the striker who will now have to watch Liverpool and France from the sidelines before the start of the new season.
Now, the 23 year old has sent a message to supporters on Instagram as he hopes that the support of Liverpool fans can help him push through the pain and recover.
"It’s hard, maybe even unfair… but I’m grateful this is happening to me here, among you," he posted.
"I’m not alone. Your strength and your love will be my driving force. See you again soon, Anfield."
In his debut season at Anfield, Ekitike scored 17 goals and provided six assists. He will now be replaced by Alexander Isak for the rest of the campaign as manager Arne Slot deals with yet another devastating injury.
The Reds sit fifth in the Premier League, three points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa and four points ahead of Chelsea. Liverpool face Everton this Sunday as they hunt down Champions League qualification, a bare minimum for a club that spent over £400M last summer.
