Brazil legend Ronaldo has praised Endrick who he thinks should have more support at the World Cup.

Vinicius Jr spared Brazil the thought of facing a defeat in an opening World Cup match for the first since 1934 as he equalized against Morocco at the New York New Jersey Stadium on Saturday.

Brazil boss Carlo Ancelotti has already faced backlash for his decision to leave teenage talent Endrick on the bench for the entire clash, with many scratching their heads at why the Madrid star wasn’t trusted.

Ancelotti’s side next face Haiti, who lost 1-0 to Scotland in the opening clash. Endrick is likely to get his chance against on Saturday, something which Ronaldo believes should happen as he backs the 19-year-old.

"I am sure he will get his opportunity. He will come on at some point, but right now he is the third option in attack. There is Igor Thiago, there is Matheus Cunha, and then it's him.

"I think he would have come on in the game (against Morocco) if it weren't for the substitution where I think Bruno Guimaraes asked to come off... That’s an important detail. Because Ancelotti was definitely going for the win. But listen, he is ready, forget it, he's ready.

"He is competing out there with other great players. He's on par with Matheus Cunha from Manchester United, and Igor Thiago was a top scorer in England, so we are well-served right now."

Endrick entered the World Cup having scored five times and having provided seven assists from just 16 appearances while on loan with Lyon in Ligue 1. He should make an impact this summer, as long as Ancelotti hands him his chance.
