The 29-year-old right-back arrives as a free agent after featuring in 33 of 34 Eredivisie matches last season.
Born in the Netherlands to Moroccan parents, Bronkhorst can also play as a wing-back, winger or centre-back.
He brings significant experience to Huddersfield, having made more than 200 senior appearances across spells with Excelsior, NEC Nijmegen, Telstar and FC Dordrecht in the Dutch top two divisions.
“I had a big decision to make this summer, and I wanted to make sure I made the right choice for my career and family,” Bronkhorst told club media.
“ After speaking to the Club and having a chance to visit the facilities, I had no doubt about Huddersfield Town, and I’m really happy to be here at such an exciting time.
“There is real clarity in who we want to be, how we want to play and how I can contribute to that. I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about the supporters here too, so I cannot wait to get started and experience that feeling and atmosphere from the stands!”
