NEC knocked PSV out of the Dutch Cup on Tuesday, but the Eindhoven side bounced back with a 2-1 win over AZ, the other KNVB Beker finalists. The win earned the reigning champions a 19-point lead at the top of the table after Feyenoord drew 3-3 with NAC Breda and Ajax lost 3-1 to FC Groningen.
Their latest win made the Eredivisie table look as follows:

Feyenoord had picked up some pace after dropping game after game in December and January, but have dipped in form again. It puts PSV in a prime position to win another title, and here's when the Eindhoven giants could win the Eredivisie title.
On pace for all records
If PSV hold on to their 19-point lead, the earliest they could win the Eredivisie title will be on April 4th against FC Utrecht in round 29.
Winning it that day would earn PSV the record of earliest title win in Eredivisie history, breaking their own record from April 8th, 1978, when PSV won their seventh championship.

By rounds, AZ own the record by winning the title in round 28 of the 1980/81 season. PSV would need a 22-point lead to win the Eredivisie in round 27, when the 26-time champions face NEC Nijmegen on March 14th.
Competition
Based on current form, no one in the top 4 comes close to PSV. The league leaders won 8 of their last 10 league games, scoring 25 goals and conceding 11 along the way.
Feyenoord are in second place after winning three of their last five Eredivisie matches, and are seemingly falling down a questionable path again by showcasing anything but sparkling play.
Ajax lost the third spot and fell back into fifth after losing 3-1 to FC Groiningen last weekend. The Amsterdam giants are now on 44 points after losing their 12-game unbeaten streak.
NEC are now on 46 points and can feel the hot breath of FC Twente in their necks, but are back to winning ways with a 3-0 win over FC Volendam. FC Twente, who are the only unbeaten team in the Eredivisie in 2026, are just two points behind them
What also plays in PSV's favour is the remaining schedule. PSV have played (and beaten) Feyenoord twice already, while the away game at Ajax - their toughest remaining matchup - will be played in round 31. NEC will play PSV in Eindhoven on March 14th, giving PSV fuel for revenge after a painful cup tie just a week-and-a-half earlier.

Meanwhile, Feyenoord are yet to play Ajax at home (March 22nd) and NEC in Nijmegen (April 12th).
Ajax first play AZ, a notoriously difficult opponent for the record champions, on February 8th. In terms of tough matchups, FC Groningen-Ajax is scheduled on March 7th, and Feyenoord-Ajax on March 22nd.
