Ramsay made his first Liverpool appearance in nearly three years against Crystal Palace, and has found himself in limbo after various injuries and loans after former manager Jürgen Klopp left the side.
The Reds entered the fight at Anfield with four losses in their previous five matches and are desperate for three points to try and catch league leaders Arsenal, who are seven points clear.
Ramsay featured in the club’s EFL Cup loss to Palace and impressed many pundits who believed he has what it takes to thrive in the first team. Slot spoke on his performance and admitted he helped create more throughout the game.
“I think Calvin had a very, very decent performance. Calm on the ball. I don't know if I said it over here but (in) the first half-hour, I think we had better chances than them actually and he was part of that,” Slot said in the post-match press conference.
“He played with composure. A decent-to-good game for him. And I said also afterwards if you make your debut after a 3-0 loss, you might feel very, very disappointed – but the two of you can be quite happy with the way you've played in your first time here at Anfield.”
Slot has struggled to find a consistent performer for his right-back role and now with Jeremie Frimpong out for several weeks it looks like the perfect time for Ramsay to make an impact.
Ramsay has struggled on loan at the likes of Preston, Bolton, Wigan and Kilmarnock over the past few years and his return to the side has been a shock for many. However, it may be just what the side need to up competition for places.
