Jackson had already flown to Germany to complete a loan with an option to buy and refused to budge when he was told to return to London after his deal has reportedly collapsed. However, Jackson was in fact allowed to join the Bundesliga champions after all.
Bayern have signed the Senegalese striker on loan with an obligation to buy if certain conditions are met, and many questions have been raised over whether he can face The Blues when they face the Bavarian side on Wednesday, September 17th in what will be a tough opening test for both sides.
The answer is yes as according to the governing body’s ‘Statement on Integrity of Competitions’, clubs cannot insert clauses that prevent their own players from facing them in European competition which means Chelsea could not have stopped Jackson from facing them.
UEFA rules say that clubs cannot apply “any influence whatsoever over the players that another club may (or may not) field in a match.”
Jackson was left frustrated after the initial deal collapsed at the weekend, but now he has got his move which could lead to a return to his old side in just a week's time as he aims to make the club regret letting him go in their summer overhaul.
