Saka endured an injury-hit season last term and was absent for more than three months with a hamstring problem which have come back to bite the winger as he remains out of the Arsenal side.
The winger did not feature for England, despite being granted extra time to rest and arrived back in North London before the FA Cup clash with Southampton which The Gunners lost 2-1.
Now, Arsenal have trained ahead of the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Sporting and Sky Sports revealed that Saka was not absent which could suggest that he will not feature in the first leg.
In his press conference ahead of Arsenal’s FA Cup clash against Southampton, Mikel Arteta was asked if he was worried about Saka’s struggles or if he thinks the winger will step up in the coming games.
“I’m certain of that (he will find his best form).
“I spoke to him, I said: ‘In the end, everybody is going to remember what we’ve done in the last part of the season and in this final push of eight weeks, what we’re going to deliver individually, and that’s where now we can impact.
“What we’ve done in October and November, it’s irrelevant, it’s done. It’s about now and how we prepare ourselves to give the best chance to win what we want.”
Reports predicted Saka would return for the Southampton clash but after missing out and now not being seen in training, his injury could be much more serious than first thought.
