Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller was a Manchester United target this summer and he has revealed that he wants to follow in the footsteps of Liverpool's Florian Wirtz.

Europe's top clubs have been monitoring Stiller throughout the summer, and was one of the many names tipped to move to Old Trafford to bolster manager Ruben Amorim's lack of options in the middle of the park.

The 24-year-old, who is now part of the senior setup with Germany after making his debut last year has not shied away from questions about his future in a recent interview as he explains that he thinks about moving away from the Bundesliga.

"I'm currently not thinking about a move," he is quoted as saying by Germany outlet BILD

“Generally speaking, I'm interested in moving abroad at some point; I thought that Florian Wirtz's decision to go to Liverpool was cool.

"But only one thing is certain for me: At the end of my career, I absolutely want to play in the USA, in the MLS. This is 100 per cent my plan, my goal."

Stiller will remain with Stuttgart, until the winter transfer window at least but many reports have picked up on the Wirtz comment and suggest that he will shift his focus to the Premier League much like his German teammate.

Stiller has been called up by Julian Nagelsmann for Germany's upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Slovakia and Northern Ireland, and top sides will be keeping an eye on him once more as he ponders what looks like a very bright future.
