Bayern Munich honorary president Uli Hoeness has given a positive update on striker Harry Kane.

Last month, it was revealed that Kane could leave Bayern Munich next summer for €65M by activating his release clause by the end of the January transfer window.

Having scored 24 goals in just 20 games in all competitions this season, Kane is the best striker in Europe by quite a distance and is on track to lift the Ballon d’Or next year as long as he can pick up some trophies before the season concludes.

Rumours have been spread that the England captain may want to return to Tottenham after lifting silverware in Germany, with reports stating that a summer move is on the cards.

However, Hoeness has revealed this week that Kane is set to stay and will feature for the side until his contract expires.

“Kane has a release clause until the end of January. We assume that he will definitely fulfil his contract until 2027”.

“And if it were up to us - and I've heard he wants it too - he will extend. His family feels comfortable.”

FC Barcelona is reportedly interested in him as a possible successor to Robert Lewandowski, who will leave at the end of his contract this summer.

Kane is 32-years-old and will be 34 in two years time when his deal expires. The likes of Barcelona and Tottenham are unlikely to make a move for the striker at that age, unless he can maintain his form and defy the odds, much like athletes like Cristiano Ronaldo
