The Real Madrid striker, who played under Ancelotti at AC Milan, highlighted concerns over the misuse of the Barcelona star Raphinha and suggested nerves contributed to technical errors in the draw against Morocco.
Speaking on ESPN Brasil’s ‘Resenha da Copa’ ahead of the Haiti clash, Ronaldo expressed confusion over player positioning, particularly Raphinha being deployed on the left despite excelling in a different role for his club.
“The Raphinha on the left, when he had an incredible year with Barcelona playing on the right? Some things that were not possible to understand, which, in the second half, already started to improve,” he explained.
Ronaldo also credited Morocco for their disciplined performance and expressed full confidence in Ancelotti’s ability to guide the Selecao back on track.
“We should talk about Morocco too, right? What an interesting game, what speed, what strength... What a neat, organised team,” he continued.
“We faced a tough nut. I think (Ancelotti) is a phenomenon, a guy with a lot of experience, good treatment of players, good at chatting.
“Besides the experience within football. He will correct the things he saw, and that we saw wrong, for sure.”
