David Moyes said Everton should never have allowed Manchester City back into the game after taking a late 3-1 lead in a dramatic 3-3 draw.

Jeremy Doku had opened the scoring before Thierno Barry’s quickfire brace and Jake O’Brien’s header turned the match on its head.

The Citizens responded immediately and eventually struck late through Doku again. Moyes praised Everton’s second-half display but insisted they could have scored more.

He also criticised the officials for not awarding what he described as a “stonewall penalty” when Merlin Röhl was brought down by Bernardo Silva.
