The former England defender says Mikel Arteta’s side have a major advantage because of the stability within the club, while several competitors are going through periods of change.
Arsenal began their title defence with a convincing 3-0 victory over Coventry City. Ferdinand feels the Gunners are well placed to build on their success after ending a 22-year wait for the league title last season.
"It was what I expected from Arsenal," Ferdinand said on his YoutubeChannel in the wake of their win against Coventry.
"Solid, hard to play against, shut down the opposition and then fed on some mistakes and punished them. They played like champions.
“I don’t see anyone being able to challenge Arsenal this season. They’re the only team with stability. Everyone else has had big changes."
