Brighton are looking to seal arguably one of the biggest bargains of the summer transfer window.

Luka Vuskovic is widely regarded as one of Europe's most promising young talents. At just the age of 19, the Croatian excelled on loan at Bundesliga side Hamburg after being loaned there by Tottenham

The colossus defender made 30 appearances in all competitions for the German club and even found the net six times, including a scorpion kick against Werder Bremen in December.

Roberto De Zerbi wants the teenager to play a part in his plans in north London next season, as he aims to showcase his talents in the Premier League. However, Brighton have already submitted a £30 million bid for the youngster.

According to Florian Plettenberg, Vuskovic has reached a full "verbal agreement" with the Seagulls after speaking to Fabian Hurzeler and the club's hierarchy.

Vuskovic feels the AMEX Stadium is the best place for his development, although the deal remains "complicated" and Brighton are waiting to see if their opening offer gets rejected.

A potential switch to the South Coast could coincide with Jan Paul van Hecke leaving, with Spurs pushing hard to sign the Dutchman.

Their first two bids were rejected, the latest being £50 million, as Brighton hold out for closer to £70m, despite his contract only having one year left to run.
