The current president of Real Madrid, pending the outcome of the upcoming elections, confirmed Mourinho's announcement, confirmed the arrivals of Konaté and Dumfries, and promised that, if re-elected, he will make a €150 million offer for a player from a Champions League team.

The president of Real Madrid expanded on his statements regarding various club matters, from the future of the coaching staff to possible signings and the internal atmosphere.

Regarding the future of José Mourinho, he was emphatic: "Mourinho is coming and he will be the coach of Real Madrid". He also looked back on his previous spell: "Mourinho was very important, he gave us the competitiveness we needed, and after he left, we won the Champions League titles."

He later reiterated his opinion of the Portuguese coach: "All coaches need to be tough. Mourinho gave us competitiveness, and after he left, we won five Champions Leagues. Mourinho has been a great coach. I have a lot of trust in him."

On the alleged clash between Tchouaméni and Valverde, he downplayed the rumors: "I've been here for 26 years and it's nonsense to say that two players have fought, because it's normal. There have been fights every year. What's not normal is that it gets leaked."

As for Erling Haaland, he denied any move: "Everyone has denied it, his father, his agent, and the club. It's a bluff. That candidacy is full of bluffs. That's why I'm here, to defend Real Madrid. We are a united club."

He criticized part of the media environment, denouncing attempts to destabilize the club: "I've noticed there was a kind of conspiracy in the media to destabilize the club. I wanted to put a stop to it. That's why I decided to call elections. What a coincidence that those who wanted to destabilize Real Madrid are the same ones who come from a dark period in the club's history. They brought people into the assemblies who weren't even Real Madrid members, they sneaked in. That's why I came back in 2009. Now, it's their children. I'm angry."

150 million await at the Bernabéu

The president of Real Madrid continued to elaborate on the club's sporting plans and possible transfer market moves.

"We've talked about Mourinho and Ibrahima Konaté... Now I'll talk about Denzel Dumfries. I'm telling you this in advance, but we'll have signings in many more positions," he said.

He also raised the stakes regarding a possible major deal in the market: "On Tuesday, I will make a significant offer to a major Champions League club for a player who would be the biggest transfer in Madrid's history. At least 150 million euros."

In later statements, he ruled out the possibility of it being Haaland, also confirmed that the player does not play in the Premier League, and said that if he is elected, the first thing he would do is speak with the player's current club.
