Aral Simsir’s time at FC Midtjylland is allegedly coming to an end very soon. The 24-year-old playmaker arrived in Turkey on Tuesday to finalize the last details with Trabzonspor.
Upon his arrival, Simsir spoke briefly to the Turkish media, making it clear that he was quickly convinced. "For me, it wasn't a particularly difficult choice. After all, they’ve wanted to sign me for five years. That’s why the decision wasn't so hard for me," says Simsir, according to Haber61.
According to Danish and Turkish media, Aral Simsir is set to become the most expensive player ever in Trabzonspor as the Turkish club is prepared to pay €15 million for Simsir's services.
Trabzonspor's most expensive purchase ever is attacking midfielder Ernest Muçi, who was signed permanently from Beşiktaş for a total operational fee of €9.5 million (an €8.5 million transfer fee plus a €1 million loan fee). This landmark deal broke the club's all-time transfer record.
Simsir, who wasn't selected for the Turkish World Cup squad, was officially named the Player of the Year (Årets Profil) in the Danish Superliga for the 2025/2026 season
