The 71-year-old manager insists that Ronaldo 'will never be a problem' for the national team.
The head coach won the Saudi Pro League with Ronaldo last season, and will lead Portugal until 2030.
Jesus said: “Cris is a symbol of Portuguese football. He wants to continue at Al Nassr and will end his career at Al Nassr. It’s easy to work with Cristiano”.
The appointment comes as Ronaldo and Portugal were knocked out by Spain at the round of 16 stage at the World Cup in a 1-0 defeat.
Jesus replaced Roberto Martinez who left his position as Portugal head coach after over three years in charge, with Ange Postecoglou taking the reins at Al Nassr.
Ronaldo scored three goals at the tournament in what will likely be his final World Cup for Portugal.
There is no indication at this stage that Ronaldo will retire from international duty, and Jesus has hinted he will be in his plans for the foreseeable future.
