Mijnans, 26, has signed a five-year contract in Eindhoven. AZ reportedly receive €14 million for the attacking midfielder.

Besides, playing in the Champions League is something I’ve dreamt of since I was a child and I’m really looking forward to it.”
Mijnans was close to joining PSV in the summer of 2025, too, but AZ blocked a move.
“We’ve been following Sven for years and can see that he continues to make significant progress every season," technical director Earnest Stewart said.
"He’s a clever, versatile midfielder with great stamina. On top of that, he consistently scores goals and provides assists. His mentality also appeals to us greatly. Sven is constantly working on his development and has a strong character. We are convinced that he is an excellent fit for the way we want to play and for PSV’s ambitions.”
Sven Mijnans joined AZ from Sparta Rotterdam in January 2023 for a reported fee of €1.5 million. In his 3.5 years in Alkmaar, Mijnans played 155 games across all competitions, scoring 42 goals and providing 27 assists.
