Wolves boss Gary O'Neil was pleased with Leon Chiwome's debut in defeat at Aston Villa.

The 18 year-old was called up with O'Neil stating they were short of numbers facing Villa.

He said, "Yeah, he did really well considering he hasn't trained with us much. I've only met him three or four times on the training pitch but he worked his socks off and made a few runs in behind.

"I hope he enjoyed bits of it because he's worked hard to get that moment.

"I didn't make a big thing of it. I just named him in the team and he's earned the right to be in and around it. The injury situation has maybe accelerated it for him but I'm pleased with the way the other lads supported him. Hopefully we can get a win on his next one."
