Roma coach De Rossi: This start the best I could dream of

Roma coach Daniele de Rossi admits they face Brighton undermanned.

Roma go to Brighton for the second-leg of their Europa League round 16 tie leading 4-0 on aggregate.

De Rossi said: "How are (Paulo) Dybala and (Romelu) Lukaku? We are not at the end of the work, we are halfway. Paulo is fine. Romelu has a knee problem and hip that he has been carrying around for months, when it comes out he has to manage it with a bit of rest. Whatever lineup we field, our job dictates it to us, we have to play a great game.

"Even more so since there won't be some player who always plays, whoever comes in must play a great game. I'm sure we can play even without Dybala and Lukaku, if Paulo doesn't play tomorrow. I still have to decide that."

He also said: “Great teams like Roma have moments of decline and then retire regardless of the coach. Physically they have players who are stronger than those they face. You win games in the end. I'm happy with the journey, in my best thoughts there was this departure, not only results but also the human and footballing feeling that was created.

"They strongly believe what I try to convey to them, I am satisfied. Game after game I see things that I like more and more, then there are opponents and setbacks but it's part of the season. Arriving at the break with a great result tomorrow and Sunday will be among the best starts I could dream of."
