WORLD CUP 2026: Washington not a venue
The 48-team tournament will be held next year in the USA, Mexico and Canada. The opening match will take place on 11 June in Mexico City, the final on 19 July in East Rutherford near New York. Washington is not a venue.
The German Football Association (DFB) will start its World Cup qualifying campaign in Slovakia on 4 September. Other opponents are Northern Ireland and Luxembourg. Only the group winners will qualify for the World Cup.
