Canada take on Morocco at the NRG Stadium in Saturday's last-16 battle after progressing from the group stage for the first time in what has been a historic World Cup for the nation.
Morocco are currently ranked 7th in the FIFA World Rankings and are firm favourites to beat Canada who are ranked just 19th.
Morocco beat Canada 2-1 during the group stage of the 2022 World Cup and Marsch’s side will be seeking revenge on Friday night in what should be a thrilling clash.
Speaking ahead of the game, Marsch revealed how tough preparation has been and how his side will try to enjoy themselves.
“Preparing for Morocco is like a gory, horrible nightmare,” Marsch said via GOAL. “It’s like, I don’t want to watch them play. They’re too good.”
“We know that everybody’s going to write us off,” Marsch said. “That’s an opportunity, right, but in the end we are focused on trying to really be our best for this match and deliver the best performance of our lives, and that can give us a chance.”
“We’ll go out there and have fun and enjoy who we are and what we are,” Marsch said via the Toronto Sun. “Part of the discussion will be to say organized but go for it, man. We know that Morocco is going to challenge every single thing we do, and this is a team that has literally zero weaknesses.”
“We have to try to be good at the things we are good at and see if that can hold up against an opponent like this.”
Morocco are also unbeaten in nine straight matches since their defeat to Senegal in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final but to be the best, Canada must be the best on their way to the Quarter Final.
